Dear Commodore Options Families, Welcome to May Team Commodore! Whew...what a year it has been. We have navigated so much together, supported our programs, and continued to keep our focus on the K-12 students in our building. I have witnessed so much academic and social growth in our students...and our Kindergarteners are so ready for 1st grade and our seniors are so ready for their next adventure!!! I know our staff appreciates the partnership and support of our parent community because we are all committed to our students and helping them dream big, each and every day.
As a mom of two amazing young adults, I know how important it is to support each student as an individual with unique needs and personal passions. This will be a busy month for Jim and I as we attend my son's graduation from Carroll College in Helena, MT and my daughter's graduate school commencement from University of Utah, College of Health Sciences (MS in Biomedical Laboratory Research Science). Our children continue to develop as learners and their passions evolve with them as they mature and have more life experiences. It is a true gift to support them on their journeys...and it all goes by so fast...trust me, it does. Enjoy the late nights at the ballpark, carpooling to activities, and running around the island to all of your commitments....it doesn't last forever, I promise... but adult children are also a lot of fun! Keeping them healthy and whole along the way is a team effort and I appreciate all of the coaches, mentors, and adults who support our children daily.
This month our calendars are quite full. We have SBA testing for 3rd-8th grade and 10th-12th grade, end of year celebrations, and outdoor education for many of our Odyssey students. We will also be hiring some new staff members as our programs evolve and grow. We get to celebrate Teachers and Staff this month too...and as a principal, I appreciate the exhaustive energy, dedication, and daily commitment my teachers and staff give of themselves every single day. As adults, we also have hard days and personal challenges, but we show up for our students every day with positivity, full hearts, and attentiveness. Let's celebrate our teachers and staff and show our genuine appreciation this month!! Thank you.
Commodore is a dynamic, K-12 learning community, supporting three growing programs and encouraging our families to participate in the classrooms and community events. Thank you for all of your support!
Warmly, Tricia Corsetti, Principal
EHHS: Our high school students are busy with spring events, trying to finish the year strong academically, and our 2024 graduating seniors are getting so excited for June 15th! We also have AP exams the first two weeks of May, the SBA for all 10th/11th graders 5/21-24, and students are making summer plans for jobs, internships, and adventures! Thank you to the EHHS PTO for supporting a student movie and game night last month...plenty of treats and fun for all!
Odyssey K-8: Special Announcement from our 7th & 8th graders
📢🍎🥪 Teenage Tribune: Snack Drive Special Edition 🥪🍎📢 Hey everyone! Guess what? We've got some awesome news to share! Our very own 7th and 8th grade class is leading the charge on something super cool—a Snack Drive! From April 29th to May 24th, we're on a mission to collect as many tasty snacks as possible to help out our fellow students who might need a little extra something to munch on during the day. We're talking granola bars, fruit cups, crackers, and all those delicious goodies that can keep us going strong!
Here's how you can get involved: Donate Snacks: Raid your pantry for those non-perishable snacks that you love, but maybe have a few too many of. Bring them to school and drop them off at the collection points. Every little bit counts! 📣 Spread the Word: Tell your friends, your classmates, your teachers—heck, even your pet hamster if they'll listen! Let's get everyone in on the Snack Drive action and make a big difference together. And hey, let's give a huge shoutout to our 7th and 8th grade class for leading the charge on this awesome initiative. You rock!
So, mark your calendars, raid those snack stashes, and get ready to make a difference. Because when it comes to helping out our fellow students, there's no such thing as too many snacks! Keep snacking, keep smiling, and keep being awesome!
Peace out,
Jonah and Skye 7th grade (and chatGPT). As well as all of the Service Learning mini class Led by Maria Metzler, special thx to her!!
Another sweet announcement: Freya, 2nd grade, received a letter from the White House in reply to the letter she wrote during the Young People's March for Peace and Kindness. Save the date for next year! January 20, 2025
Mosaic K-8: Mosaic is also planning for next year and we have a large number of new applicants and community interest in our Parent Partnership program. We had a full house last month at a PTO and staff meeting to plan for growth and creative schedule options. We have shared parent interest surveys and brainstormed the various ways we offer enrichment classes for our K-8 students. I am excited to support our development as a program. All of our programs are focusing on building for the future with new energy and opportunities to meet the needs of our students and dedicated families. We are in a better place now, as a district, to be hopeful, innovative, and use our creativity to improve our practice and strengthen our schools together. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
